RIGHT LANE DRIVER Writhing through the freeway it’s a heated afternoon Swerving rather blindly P76 saloon He drives so slowly, so meek and lowly And I bet he does it all day Slow you down, drive you round the bend Right lane driver Run them down, they’ll be back again Messing with her hair she wanders through the lanes Lipstick rear vision she powders her facial veins A transformation in transportation And I bet she does it all day Slow you down, drive you round the bend Right lane driver Run them down, they’ll be back again Right lane driver Roundabout, scream and shout at them Right lane driver Slow you down, drive you round the bend Caravan jam, a pram on a smoking bus Driving’s a pleasure, brings hatred in all of us Automobile in peace Chorus Another multinova makeover (right lane driver) Your wife pulled over in a green range rover (right lane driver) Motor coma now I’m boiling over (right lane driver)

Mercy 04:05
MERCY If you saw the sun fall down If you felt the sky close round If everything that ever meant a thing to me was found untrue If I landed on your shore Captive by your first world law If everything that ever meant a thing to me was found untrue Mercy for the slave for the free Mercy pulls against all you see Mercy When I play the cruelest games Rising from my deepest shame When I lay a final blame on you The judgement of a selfish child A leader that was worth the while Hear the holy fools who whisper to the raging storm for you Mercy for the proud and the shamed Mercy promises that never came Mercy for the fool and the wise Mercy mercy mercy Some can navigate the chart Dark waters of the human heart Somehow north will always stay true Mercy for the land and sea Mercy for what used to be Mercy for you and me Mercy

MAKE YOUR BED A SINGLE We were so happy for such a long time So understanding so patient and kind I get the feeling you don’t want me around I get the feeling I’m dragging the ground I saw you talking to some other man A conversation I could not understand Think I am tired of your cruel little games I know it’s time for a change Well I love you but you shut me out You don’t even know what I’m crying about Tried to tell you but you shut me down Better make your bed a single ‘coz I won’t be found You killed my goldfish while I was away Water restrictions said you had to obey Found my iguana down RSPCA If I saw that ranger would he take you today You cheat at scrabble and monopoly And say my family don’t play properly Start throwing glasses and cheap pottery You know I cannot stand this no more Well I love you but you shut me out You don’t even know what I’m crying about Tried to tell you but you shut me down Better make your bed a single ‘coz I won’t be found The marriage therapists are running a mile Adult relationship is just not your style I’m gonna leave you just one of these days If you weren’t that lotto winner I would mean what I say Well I love you but you shut me out You don’t even know what I’m crying about Tried to tell you but you shut me down Better make your bed a single ‘coz I won’t be found

COMING TO LIFE And I was filled with light in the middle of the day And I was fueled by spite later the same way Strange how you could live your life like someone else’s dream Sailing magnetic north heard and yet unseen And the way I am coming And the way I’ve arrived It’s the way I am coming to life Being so sure of your character part On a small familiar stage When a still small voice said now eat those lines Simply act your age Were you taught to climb like everyone else Just a race to the clouds But a slow walk down has brought me life More than I’m allowed And the way I am coming And the way I’ve arrived It’s the way I am coming It’s the way Wait for the moments the platforms of perception Caves in the rain You’ll feel the tide just a whisper of the wisdom Slowly coming to life And the way I am coming And the way I’ve arrived It’s the way I am coming It’s the way

THINGS AIN'T GETTING BETTER FOR YOU It was early in the morning under doona I was stalling I could feel the seconds falling to a dismal day Same old repetition in the daily competition Just to keep my same position in the same old way I could see myself complaining through the traffic and the raining And the hours of rowing training for my five year old When I woke up in a furnace with my long dead Uncle Earnest Saying ‘Welcome to hell’ and he started to sing... Ah things ain’t getting better for you Ah things ain’t getting better for you Things ain’t getting better for you things ain’t getting better for me A demon known as Steven he was welcoming the heathen Said fill in this form and leave it on the counter here I’ll take your bags and dump ‘em ‘coz you like it or you lump ‘em You won’t ever need a sumpthin’ sonny while you’re here Everyone feels weird when they’re suddenly bum-steered It’s a shame that truck careered through your middle lane But I have your file that’s recent and your uncle says you’re decent So if you simply take a seat I’ll see what is to blame Ah things ain’t getting better for you Ah things ain’t getting better for you Ah things ain’t getting better for you Things ain’t getting better for you things ain’t getting better for me After waiting ages reading New Idea pages I was summoned to the cages at the front of the line Where a Seventh Day Adventist said she used to be a dentist Said computer’s made an error for the umpteenth time We’re really very sorry ‘bout the death under the lorry But you’re never s’posed to come down here to hell at all And you’re gonna have to stay the ticket is one way I do not want to sound like Mrs Know-It-All but.... Ah things ain’t getting better for you Ah things ain’t getting better for you Ah things ain’t getting better for you Things ain’t getting better for you things ain’t getting better for me After fourteen ages rehabilitation stages They had processed all my papers sent me back to life On the operating table learnt my pulse had become stable I was ready willing able for another try It was a power failure the machine and all regalia Sent me back to South Australia if you know what I mean As soon as I saw Steven he was giggling and wheezing Said that he was only teasing but he wanted to scream Ah Ah things ain’t getting better for you Ah things ain’t getting better for you Ah things ain’t getting better for you Things ain’t getting better for you things ain’t getting better for me

Icarus 04:46
ICARUS You remind me of a loving gesture spoken And you remind me of a little treasure broken If you could only see the things you are doing to me Then I’d remind you of reactionary token Wings near the sun are falling down But we never stop flying Icarus dreaming of clowning around There’s no denying People drown in seas that never appealed to me And now that I can see these youthful eyes I’m shedding So good luck to you my friend These years aren’t lost in the scheme of things When life goes round the bend Your enemy was your closest friend Yeah yeah yeah Chorus
